Oh Boy! So Busy!

Well, life is busy, busy, busy right now, but I can see things happening and it feels good. We are plodding along, little by little, in the grand scheme of remodelling the house. We are hoping to have the cabinet out of the hallway bathroom this week, and that will then give us room for the bathtub to come out. It's been a kind of choreographed chaos, as everything has had to be done in a sequence, and with Mark still working, and then us having to rely on family members to find time to muck in and help us, it's slower going than just having a professional come in and do it ... but the quotes we had were ridiculous against our budget, so we plod on.

The minimalizing of dust collecting surfaces elsewhere has been coming on pretty well. I have given away my oak shelves to one granddaughter, and my great-grandchildren's dad is having a nice wood/glass 2 cabinet and plinth set, which he's picking up tomorrow. I've given away countless books and ornaments to grandkids, greats and Miracle Hill, and packed my AVON goodies in tubs instead of having them out on shelves.

Yesterday, we took a trip to Lowe's to pick up paint for my new bathroom and the living room. I'm getting not exactly excited, but definitely looking forward to, the bathroom being finished. I have it all planned to make it my peaceful relaxing place, candles, soft music etc. I think I'll be in there morning and night! The walls will be the palest pink. The door will have like a stained glass decal on it, I'm looking at an oriental mural on the one wall and possibly mirror tiles around the tub to make the room appear larger. Over the toilet, I plan on having a shelving unit so that I can put my spider plant on the top and have it trail down, along with towel storage. I have to get some kind of fake framing for the large mirror above the sink as I'm planning on keeping that, but we'll replace the old row of lightbulbs across the top with some kind of an LED strip light that will suit the room.

For the living room, I've chosen a pale green. I have a gold on black trio of rose canvases to go on the wall over one couch, we are keeping our wood/glass lighted wall unit, our couches are a neutral brown, I have an oriental rug for the floor, and in minimalizing all the extra cabinets and shelves, I will now also have room for a massage chair for us to share,

and (along with my elliptical bike) a seated stepper.

They will be my Christmas present to us, and the massage chair may come early! With all the remodelling, I think the benefits will definitely be a blessing to both of us!

Well, it's Monday, and I have batch cooking to do for hubby's work lunches and my anytime meals. Have a wonderful day everyone!
